Testimonials
” Visceral manipulation courses have provided a framework, and hands-on techniques for manual therapists, to assess and treat patients with pains that may have some visceral involvement. The theoretical basis of visceral manipulation do not contradict but integrates nicely with the physiotherapy paradigm. The word ‘manipulation’ has been somewhat been misleading as the techniques have been gentle and non-forceful. The results have been positive when used appropriately.
The Barral Institute’s teachers have all been wonderful teachers and experienced clinicians. Their passion in the work that they do is evident when they share their skills and knowledge.
I enjoy the courses run at Livingwell as the space is spacious and conducive for workshops. Kheng has also been an efficient and wonderful organiser.”
— Sharon Lim, Sports Therapist (Moving Space Physiotherapy)
” “Feel first and think later”. This has been the key motto for my musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice since I integrated visceral manipulation and craniosacral approaches in my work.
“Feel” refers to the manual listening of the body to find out what it needs at that moment for the presentation of the symptom(s).
The “Think” part is the structural differential diagnosis to clinically reason why the body is suffering. This approach has benefited many of my patients and my understanding of the body at a different layer. “
— Dr Ng Chong Ching (DMT), Manualcircle
” The instructors from VM, NM, CST, LDT and a series of advanced courses are highly experienced and knowledgeable. We have plenty of hands-on guidance with Q&A time to related to clinical cases. I learned advanced skills in tissue palpation “listen-follow” to detect tissue restrictions and feel fluid movements to evaluate and provide manual treatments for my clients with various pain and mobility issues. The results of the work also facilitate better exercise outcomes which motivate my clients to continue their home exercises. My work as a physiotherapist cannot be more fulfilling and fun without the inspiration and knowledge I gained from all these workshops! “
